Sarah Kaufman, DVM, MBA

Dr. Sarah Kaufman

A general practitioner with professional interests in wellness care, therapeutic nutrition and internal medicine, Dr. Sarah Kaufman has cared for pets at Cherokee Animal Clinic since 2008.

Having grown up in a military family, Dr. Kaufman calls southeastern Kansas her "home base." After graduating from the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor's Degree in Geology in 1999, Dr. Kaufman went on to attend Colorado State University where she earned a Master's in Business Administration in 2006. She continued her veterinary education at Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.

Dr. Kaufman is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association and the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association. She also regularly volunteers at a spay-neuter clinic for No More Homeless Pets KC. A career in veterinary medicine allows Dr. Kaufman to combine her interests in science and medicine with her love of helping people and their pets

Dr. Kaufman shares her home with a Great Dane named Daisy, two cats named Pedro and Tita, and nine chickens. Outside the hospital, she enjoys hiking and jogging with Daisy, and gardening with her husband, Quentin. Her hobbies also include knitting and reading.
