There are a few supplements that our veterinarians routinely suggest in the treatment regimen for our pets. Listed below are the most commonly suggested; however, as with all medical advice, always discuss the addition of a new supplement or medication to your pet's diet with the veterinarian before use.
..are friendly bacteria, such as Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifindum and Lactobacillis bulgaricus, that help to keep harmful bacteria from colonizing and creating digestive problems, and thus support the body in fighting illness and disease. Culturelle and PB8 are two brands that are regularly suggested by our veterinarians.
2) Glucosamine and Chondroitin
..are critical components of cartilage, but the body's natural production diminishes with age. Dasuquin and Cosequin are the two products stocked at the Cherokee clinics.
3) Omega 3 Fatty Acids
..from fish oil or other marine sources contain high levels of EPA and DHA capable of modifying inflammatory skin responses in healthy pets. Omega 3 Pet and Proviable DC are found at the Cherokee clinics.
