Dog and Cat Boarding
If you wonder who will take care of Fido or Kitty while you are away from home (or having work done in your home), look no more. VCA Cherokee Animal Hospital and Cherokee Cat Clinic offer separate boarding facilities for dogs and cats in a temperature-controlled and veterinarian supervised environment. We are proud to offer your pet a safe, comfortable place to stay.
All dog guests have their own compartment, unless two dogs from the same household wish to share a space. We feed Hill’s Science Diet foods unless a specific diet is needed and brought from home for us to feed. Water is refreshed at least twice daily, at which time their compartment is tidied. All dogs are walked outdoors (weather permitting) three times daily. Indoor runs are also used for “potty breaks” while their kennels are cleaned.
All cat guests are given their own compartment with a litter box and feeding area. There is also room for a small bed if you would like to bring one. All of the compartments are able to open up to the one “next door” in case you would like your pet to have a bit more room OR if you have more than one cat that is staying. This way they can visit each other, but are able to go their own “room” if need be.
All dogs and cats staying with us are required to be current on the Rabies vaccination, Distemper series, and Bordetella, as well as a negative stool sample or intestinal parasite dewormer within the last 6 months. Dogs also need to be current on the Canine Influenza vaccine. If your pet is not current with his or her vaccines, we can provide the vaccinations when they arrive. Call 913-649-0440 to schedule your pet’s reservations.
